Morty and Saul are out one afternoon on
a lake when their boat starts sinking.
Saul, the banker, says to Morty,
"So listen, Morty, you know I don't
swim so well."
 Morty remembered how to carry another
swimmer from his lifeguard class when
he was just a kid.
So Morty starts tugging Saul toward shore.
After twenty minutes, he begins to tire.
Finally, about 50 feet from shore,
Morty asks Saul, "So Saul, do you suppose
you could float alone?"
 Saul replies, "Morty, this is a hell of a time
to be asking for money!"

The sheriff of a small lawless town way out
west walks into the saloon, and shouts for
everyone's attention.
"Has anyone seen Brown Paper Jake?"
he asks.
 "What's he look like?" asks one shoddy looking
cowboy.
"Well," the sheriff answers, "he wears a
brown paper hat, a brown paper waistcoat,
a brown paper shirt, brown paper boots,
brown paper pants, and a brown paper jacket."
 "So what's he wanted for?" asks the same
cowboy.
"Rustlin'," replies the sheriff.

My neighbor asked if he could use my
lawnmower and I told him of course he could,
so long as he didn't take it out of my yard.

A guy goes to the doctor with insomnia
The Doctor said its obvious you are
suffering Viagra syndrome.....
What else would be keeping you up?

The story of the use of personal names is sketchy.
The origin of language itself, about 1.5 million years
ago, also is believed to mark the use of first names
to distinguish one man from his neighbor.
The oldest surviving personal name is believed by
archaeologists to be En-lil-ti, a word that appears
on a Sumerian tablet dating c 3300 BC, found outside
Baghdad in 1936.
If, however, that was the name of a deity,
then the true first person name is attributed to
N'armer, the Father of Men, Egypt's first pharaoh,
c 3000 BC.
The custom of family (surnames) names did not
really arise until the 11th century in Europe.
Prior to the 11th century a surname, if used at all,
represented the name of a primitive clan or tribe.
The science of names is called onomastics.
